The company believes in building long-lasting, positive relationships with their clients How It All Started..Chamney Crushing Ltd. is a family owned and operated aggregate company located in the Southeast corner of the province, which caters to all of Saskatchewan.The rock crushing side of the company was started by Melvin Chamney, having an early start in the gravel industry at the tender age of 15. Melvin was hired by the Bienfait coal mines to test for gravel with a backhoe along the Southeast Saskatchewan US and Canadian border. Later Melvin worked with a local gravel company and then in 1972 became a co-owner. After 26 years as a partner, in 1998, Melvin and his wife Marge became sole owners and started Chamney Crushing Ltd. In 2008, Melvin sold to his son Michael and wife Jacqueline, who amalgamated their trucking company, M&J Chamney Trucking Ltd. into the one company.The third generation is now continuing on the legacy, expanding into the oilfield sector and landscaping and irrigation industry. In 2019, the company received Estevan’s EBEX award for Growth and Expansion.
